Tackling the Climate Crisis
It cannot be denied: the climate crisis is here, and now is the time to act. March for Science NYC strongly organizes around and supports calls for decisive political action -- from local efforts to global ones -- to demand equitable climate justice for all.

Flagship March for Science NYC March 2022

Every year, March for Science NYC holds its flagship march in NYC, taking to the streets to call for climate justice NOW! In 2022, we marched from Central Park, to Broadway, to Bryant Park, with 3 demands: End all current and future fossil fuel infrastructure in NYC, accomplish our city's climate goals without harming disenfranchised communities (such as with new jails), and divest from more policing while reinvesting our money into green infrastructure.

March for Science NYC partnered with Earth Day Initiative in 2020, 2021, and 2022 to kick off Earth Week in live broadcasts and in-person events.

Live Broadcasts featured scientists, activists, and entertainers discussing climate policy, public health and environmental disasters, climate communication, sustainable energy and tech solutions, and individual actions that help bring systemic change. (373,000 views in 2020, >1 million views in 2021)

Virtual Festival exhibitors like 500 Women Scientists, World Science Festival, and Climate Reality met with visitors in our Whova app and in a customized Gather space to dive deeper into the topics discussed in the broadcast and identify ways to make a positive impact.
